Up on Constance

Treasury Casino Brisbane Happy Hour

Fortitude Valley

The rooftop bar at the Tryp hotel, Up on Constance is a relative newcomer to Brisbane’s bar scene, bringing with it a new life into the rooftop bar scene. Up on Constance is quickly becoming recognised as the place to hang out if you are looking to take it easy, while being spoiled by the fantastic music and live entertainment on offer.

The vibe of Up on Constance targets the 25-35 year old young professional crowd, with its super casual atmosphere, even allowing thongs.

Now for the important part, if you are savvy enough to get along to Up on Constance for its Flamingo Sunday’s, Sunday session, you will be entertained by live music and might be surprised to see a selection of premium spirits on offer for a pitance—a penny pincher if ever I have seen one.

The Scratch Bar

Milton

If you’re not familiar with The Scratch Bar, it’s a craft beer lover’s paradise. A small dive bar located in Milton, Brisbane, the Scratch has been shading itself using the shadow under the XXXX Brewery for a little over three years.

In saying that, nearly every beer on its ever-changing menu comes from smaller craft breweries, with a vast section of flavour for every taste.

Make your way along to the Scratch, between 4pm and 6pm, Monday to Friday to take advantage of Doctor Scratch’s Everyday Formula, where large glasses are made available for the same price as small glasses of any local beers. This allows you, the beer connoisseur the chance to truly sample some of Brisbane’s (and surrounds) finest local offerings.

The Milk Factory

South Brisbane

Another newbie, this nautical themed bar and music hub opened late last year, and has become a firm favourite when on the hunt for a cracking happy hour in Brisbane.

With live music and DJ’s performing on Friday afternoon/evening, the Milk Factory is a spot in the West End scene worth a look in, and is ideal for winding down after a busy workweek.

From Friday January 23, patrons will have the chance to score some cheaper drinks, with the bar offering a selection of discounted bevvies from 4pm to 6pm every night it opens (Wed-Sun).

Even if you can’t make it in between 4pm and 6pm, there is always a selection of drinks going for $5, as well as platters of free nibbles offered to all of the Milk Factory’s guests that come around fairly regularly.

Beach Burrito Co

Fortitude Valley & West End

These surf loving dudes really know how to put a smile on our hungry little faces. Not only is Beach Burrito Co home to four different types of frozen margaritas, they take the cake for the healthiest (and some of the tastiest) Mexican in town. With a totally relaxed vibe, seriously good tunes, and a cracking beer garden, they're now making a play for the best foodie happy hour too!

Get down to your local Beach Burrito Company Monday to Friday between 3 and 6pm, and ALL tacos are $3, and large Chilli Con Carne or veggie Nachos are $10 each. Better yet, on a Thursday night, grab two tacos plus a beer or glass of sangria for only $10! That's dinner sorted with change from a twenty. Mucho Gracias Amigos!

Lock'n'Load

West End

Practically a West End institution, no happy hour list would be complete without Lock 'n' Load having a crack at Brisbane's best happy hour!

They run a pretty exclusive ship for those of you wanting to get your hands on their seriously epic discount. The Lock 'n' Load VIP Loyalty Club offers 25% off all food and drinks between 4pm and 6pm Monday to Friday... That's super savings almost every day of the year!

What's even better is it's totally free to join this exclusive VIP gang. Even if you sign up on the day. Nice, huh?

The Press Club

Fortitude Valley

A staple in Brisbane’s bar scene, the Press Club has been operating since the turn of the century, and is still going strong 15 years on, so you know they’re doing something right.

The Press Club is quintessentially quirky, often bustling with life it boasts a host of award winning mixologists, with some wonderfully unique and fascinating cocktail offerings—if you are a fan of flavour, you must make your way to the Press Club.

Dander on down to The Press Club on Friday or Saturday evening between 7pm-9pm and you will find a selection of its signature cocktails for $10. Not too shabby for the opportunity to sample some fine, well-mixed and completely original cocktails.

The Bounty

Treasury Casino Brisbane

Rosalie

Just a baby, opened since December 2014, The Bounty is a very nice bar/ restaurant, cloaked in refinement this laid back setting makes for the perfect spot to enjoy a late afternoon or evening aperitif.

This sweet little spot in Rosalie brings with it the class of a multi-hatted restaurant, while allowing those of us who enjoy a tipple the opportunity.

On Sunday’s The Bounty offers patrons $5 can of Australian handcrafted beer, Mountain Goat, or for those of you looking for a little more refinement (while, of course sticking to your tight budget), glasses of Moet are available every day for $16.

Treasury Casino Brisbane Happy Hour Day

It is also definitely worthwhile keeping an eye on The Bounty as new drink specials will soon be making their way onto its menu, so watch this space.

Woolly Mammoth

Brisbane CBD

The Woolly Mammoth is another new kid on the block, opening its doors back in September 2014. Already making a name for itself as the craft beer destination in Brisbane, 2015 looks to be even bigger for the Woolly Mammoth.

Offering the largest selection of on tap craft beers in the entire State of Queensland, Woolly Mammoth is happy to advise of food pairing options from its quality pub grub menu.

If you live or work close to the Woolly Mammoth, my tip would be to visit sometime Tuesday to Friday, between 4pm and 6pm, as you'll be able to save a few dollars with $5 basic spirits, $5 house wine, and $5 Mammoth lagers available.

The Fox

South Brisbane

Operating for just over a year-and-a-half, The Fox Hotel seems like it’s been a part of the fabric of Brisbane’s bar scene for much longer.

A cracking spot to relax, and self-described as an adult’s playground, The Fox works hard to ensure its patrons are happy.

Offering a selection of specials throughout the week, The Fox stands out from lots of other Brisbane pubs in that it has built its name on attempts to combine quality alcohol service, with just as high quality of food.

With lunch specials everyday that combine a selection of meals with a beer or wine for just $15, The Fox offers a few other bonus deals throughout the week.

If you can get in on a Monday you will be able to get a kilo of chicken wings for just $10, while on Thursday you might be eager to treat yourself (or a special someone) to $1 oysters, shucked to order.

Between 4 and 6pm Monday to Friday The Fox offers $7 pints, and you can choose from one of the 15 different beers they have on tap.

And to ease you into the weekend, on Friday’s The Fox knocks out two bottles of Heineken and a solid bowl of fries for just $15, as well as a selection of $10 cocktails and $7 glasses of wine. And, on Saturdays the hotel hosts its ‘Easy Saturdays’ happy hour, offering patrons $6 basic spirits from 7pm to 9pm, along with a selection of $10 cocktail specials.

The Kitty

Brisbane CBD

Known as the home of the $9,500 cocktail and part of the Treasury Casino, The Kitty is a classy spot.

Now if you can’t quite fork out $9,500 for a cocktail, do not fret as The Kitty does work very hard to combine classy with some discounted drink specials in order to create a happy customer!

Starting with its 5 at 5 special, The Kitty offers a selection of drinks for $5, from 5pm right through to 7pm every evening. The drink selection is constantly changing, which means with every visit you might have the opportunity to taste test something different.

In addition (I’m about to let you in on one of Brisbane’s best budget friendly secrets here), The Kitty has a range of cocktails available for just $10 on Sunday through Wednesday after 3pm, and from time to time The Kitty releases a series of specialty cocktails from all around the world. Most recently its Manhattan series, which saw a combination of three Manhattan style cocktails sold together.
